A new song?

Zora’s got a thing for Gordon Lightfoot singing Alberta Bound. It’s getting to be a little much.

We’re working hard at church today, Zora and I, and we may have a new development in the favorite song department. After 20 repeats on Alberta Bound, she seems to now be taking a shine to Sufjan Steven’s version of Holy, Holy, Holy.

I’d like to attribute this to a fondness for liturgically beautiful music.

But, in fact, I think it’s a grand misunderstanding. When the song came on, she heard the first lines, perked up, grinned from ear to ear, and yelled “Wolly!!!” Wolly is her name for our cat, Ole (Norwegian, not Mexican, pronunciation there).

Hey, anything to get me out of hearing Alberta Bound again.

Who would put Gordon Lightfoot and Sufjan Stevens on the same CD — how very odd! ;-)

Meg, you are pretty much the “Raffi” of my parenting because of that CD!
