Lost my time to AT&T
Until about two weeks ago, we’d been making do with squatting on someone’s open wireless network for our internet connection at home. Now that the Comcast employee has activated our account, I’m feeling grateful that I don’t have to sit in a corner of our living room and hope that “linksys” won’t flake out on me before I can check email or post a random thought to Twitter. Usually this was a false hope.
“But wait,” you might ask. “Didn’t you move at the beginning of July, and aren’t you trying to be a professional on the internets? What’s the deal—were you being a load?”
I tried to take advantage of a good deal from AT&T, that’s what. It took them almost two months to get their act together and tell me that they couldn’t provide a DSL connection at my house, even though I called them weekly to find out why they hadn’t activated my connection yet. At least they didn’t charge me—but maybe I should bill them for my lost time!
That’ll have to wait, though. I need to catch the bus!
